SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS
FOURTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT.
The report to be presented at. tne. fourteenth annual meeting of the New Zealand Society of Accountants tonight states that the membership at present stands at 1778, an increase of 15 for the year. “For the year under review,” proceeds the report, “your Council resolved to again subsidise commercial tuition at Auckland University College, Canterbury College, and Otago University Grants of £lOO each were made to these institutions, and assistance in meeting tlese grants, to the extent of £7o, was received from the Institute of Accountants of New Zea-, '“The loss to the Society on tho Ac countants’ Journal for the first M •ssues amounted to £lo2 os. Bd. lh first number of the Journal, winch was sent out in Juno, 1922, was forwarded free, to all members, and the cost of this issue was £123. lor the following 12 issues, to June last, the loss to the Society was £29 os. B<l and this resu't can be looked upon as most satisfactory, and mdicat ons are that, in. future years, the publication of the Journal will result is financial benefit to the Society. the Council is indebted to Mr. G. M. Bowden, who acted as editor until February last, to Mr. J. L. Gr'.ffin, the present editor, and to the Publications Board of Control for their endeavours to maintain the standard of the Journal.
