SIB JOSEPH COOK CONTRADICTS A PRESS CORRESPONDENT.
(Rec. August 21, 9.10 p.m.) London, August 20. Replying' io a “Westminster Gazette” correspondent, Sir . Joseph Cook says the reason the Commonwealth floated a loan in Australia obviously was to provide that the redemption money should be raised locally. Sir Joseph Cook describes the correspondent’s statement that manufacturers obliged the Government to reconsider its decision as a mere figment of the imagination.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
