DONE OUT OF SPITE
HOMESTEAD SET ON FIRE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, August ,24. John Gartshore Robertson, aged 16, was charged in the Police Court this morning with arson, by wilfully setting fire to the homestead on the Smedley Estate, Tikokino, on March 25, when the building was completely destroyed. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence. Robertson admitted to a detective that he set fire to the house out of, spite in consequence of differences with the manager of the estate.
