BUILDING HOUSES

AT A LOW COST. Ono of the problems that face every man considering making a home for himself and family is the high cost of such homes. Mr. W. Pearse states that he had a patent method kno.wn as the. Pearse patent M 44437 Monolithic concrete system which should be a boon to those desiring a modern home at a minimum cost. ... The main advantages of this system conform with' the necessary building regulations, and are as follow: — Firstly—Sanitation: The ventilisation has been admitted by experts to bo perfect, its main feature being that it is drawn from vents below the floor, which circulate through cavities and 'then following through the solid band of concrete which completes the last course, by means of drain pipes at intervals of three feet, which is considered to be the only system that actually prevents condensation. Secondly—The speed in building: Tho great advantage in quick building by this system arises from the fact that it is’ tho only method by which construction can be carried out from tho raw material without any special and the building operations can be proceeded with by men without any previous building experience, thus doing away with highpriced skilled labour. Thirdly—Durability: In this direction the patentee has not only considered the reinforcing of the Monolithic concrete, but he has placed before the public a means by which timbers may be built into concrete or any other building material, and thereby obtaining a free circulation of draught to the ends which are fastened on the walls’ and secured to concrete. A dwelling built by the Monolithic concrete system will last for oyer, and every person cons'dering building should make a point of calling on Mr. Pearse, at 21 Palmer Street, where he is now constructing a dwelling. . 'iTe cost of building under this system is a very low figure, and those Wellington gentlemen who have had houses built by this method speak in glowing terms of their satisfaction at the building, and in the saving of money.—(Published by arrangement.)
