THE LUXOR TOMB
MR. CARTER TO RESUME EXCAVATIONS London, June 8. Mr. Howard Carter has returned from Cairo, but will resume work at Luxor during the winter for certain. He declares that so far as he is concerned he will not remove the King s mummy should it be found in the unopened inner chamber. “Lady Carnarvon intends to continue where her husband finished, and will not abandon the 'excavations when she has finished with Tutankhamen’s tomb. Only a quarter of tho work is. completed. Great treasures are certain to be discovered.” . . . . ~, Mr. Carter is impatient with the talk about occult influence. “There are no spooks guarding the tombs, not even according to the superstitions of the ancient Egyptians.” Mr. Carter himself is remarkably fit after thirty-two years of excavation work. —Aus.-N.Z.
