WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES A sale of New Zealand and River Plato shares at 21s. 9d. was reported at tho morning call yesterday. At the afternoon call sales were reported of Union Bank shares at £l4 Bs., Goldsbrough Mort and Co.’s shares at £2 55., Standard Insurance at £1 15s. 6d. Gear Meat shares'at £2 55., and Wilson’s Cement shares at £1 4s. BJd. For tho 4i per cents, buyers offered £97 2s. 6d., for tho 5 per cent. P.O. Stocks and Bonds. £97 10s., and for tho 5J per cent. 1933, £lOO 10s. Bank shares were again very firm, with buyers of Commercial Bank shares at £1 16s, 6d. t National Bank shares at £6 10s., and Union Bank shares at £l4 6s. Dalgety and Co.’s shares at £l2 7s. 6d. were 2s. 6d. higher, National Mortgage shares wero firm at £3 15s. Gas sliaius wero in good demand. There wri.o buvers of Christchurdli Gas shares at. £7 175., Gisbornct Gasi shares at 12s. 9d.. and Wellington Gas shares at £ll 12s. 6d. Insurance shares were firm.
