GERMAN DIVORCE LAW

DRASTIC REFORM PROPOSED. (Rec. April 10, 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, April 9. The Democrats and Socialist parties have introduced a bill providing for drastic reform of tho divorce law. Instead of guilt of husband or wife dotermining divorce, rhe Bill proposes , that if a husband and wife mutually ask for a divorce, the Court must assent. If the suit is defended, tho applicant must satisfy tho Court that the marriage is such a failure that there is no prospect of restoring happy relations. Tho Court must pay special regard to mental and spiritual differences between the parties. The Bui also removes the existing prohibition against marriage between a respondent and co-respondent.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
