MOTORING ACCIDENT
Mr. James William Batten, of Beach l Street, Island Bay, while motor-cycling to his business in Cuba Street yesterday morning, collided with a motorvan in RSddiford Street, .Newtown, and suffered severe injuries. Mr. Batten was taken to Dr. Bowerbank s surgery, where ten stitches were put in a wound on his head: besides, his. right-thumb and right knee were considerably injured. Mr. Batten was subsequently conveyed to the home of his sister, Mrs. A. L. Cooke, Hawker Street.
