Shortly after 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon the Huddart-Parker Company’s Ulimaroa dropped anchor in tho stream from Sydney. After being cleared she berthed at No. 4 Queen’s Wharf an hour later. The vessel left Sydney at qoon on Saturday, and fresh southerly winds with rough seas were encountered all the way across the Tasman Sea. Tahiti arrived in the stream at Wellington at 2.55 p.m. yesterday, three days alread of her time-table, from San Francisco. Papeete, and Rarotonga. Pratique was granted, and. the vessel oame alongside berth No. 1 south (outer tee). Queen's Wharf, about 4.50 p.m. yesterday. The Tahiti left San Francisco at 11 a.m. on .March 16, cleared the Golden Cate at 11.45 a.m., and arrived at Papeete on March 26 at 7.30 a.m. After discharging part cargo the vessel sailed again at 9 p.m. on the same date, and reached Rarotonga at noon qn March 28. The centre of the outer end of Prince’s Wharf, in course of construction, ia defined by the existence of three green fixed lights, vertically disposed The north-west and the north-east corners ot this wharf are separately defined by a white fixed light. 2. The three. green lights which formerly existed on Hobson Wharf have' been discontinued. INGA FROM NEWCASTLE. The R. S. Lamb and Company's steamer Inga arrived in the stream from Grafton and Newcastle shortly after midnight yesterday. She berthed at the King's Wharf yesterday morning. The vessel loaded timber at Grafton, land completed at Newcastle, leaving there on Tuesday, March 27. The weather was fine all the way. Her cargo comprises about 1000 tons of Australian hardwood, 600 tons of which will be unloaded at Wellington. She will leave here on Saturday for Bluff to put out the remaining 400 tons. From Bluff; the Inga will proceed to Greymouth to load timber for Sydney. Charles McArthur and Co. arc the local agents. THE CANTERBURY BOATS. The Calm is due at Wellington to-day from Wanganui. She will sail later in the day for Lyttelton. Timaru. Oamaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Gale is expected at Wellington on Monday from Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton, sailing later in the day for Wanganui. Due back on Wednesday, tha vessel will load for Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru. and Dunedin. The Storm will load at Dunedin on Saturday, then at Oamaru, Timaru. and Lyttelton, for Wellington and Wanganui. She is due here on April 11. sailing for Wanganui later in the day. The auxiliary scow Kohi. now loading timber at Havelock, ia to arrive at Wellington on Monday. After discharge, she will load general cargo for Picton, Nelson. and neighbouring bays. The Breeze is to load at Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton, early next week for Picton and Wanganui. AUTOMATIC LIGHT INSTALLED. The Customs Department announce that an automatid unwatehed light has been installed on the summit of Gable Islet, situated four cables south-eastward of Gable-end Foreland. The light will oonmenco to function this evening. It is proposed to introduce a red sector to cover the foul’ ground in the locality of Monowai Road, and mariners should exercise care when navigating in the vicinity of Monowai Rock until the sectors in this portion of the arc have been properly defined. Due notice will be given when this has been carried oqt. MARAROA TO RESUME. • The Union Company yesterday announced that the Mararoa .is to leave Wellington on Tuesday for Lyttelton to undergo overhaul prior; to taking over the Maori’s running in the Lyttelton fepry service. The Maori will go to Port Chalmers for overhaul, and the Mararoa will enter the service, leaving Lyttelton on Friday, April 13 for Wellington. She will leaye Lyttelton on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Frida/s upon the arrival of the 5.20 p.m. train from Christchurch. The Wahine will continue in her running. THE MARAMA. The Union Company’s Mr.rama is to leave Auckland to-morrow for Sydney direct. THE ISLAND STEAMERS. The Tofua. from AucEifind, ia due at Suva this morning. The Flora, far Rarotonga, will leave Auckland, on Saturday. THE’ TUTANEKAI: Advice has been received by the Minister of Marine that the Government steamer Tutanekai is due back at Bluff to-day, after; completing the periodical tour of Campbell and other southern islands. Captain Bollons reports that he found all the depots intact, 1 and no sign of castaways. The Tutanekai is to leave Bluff about Saturday for Wellington, via West Coast lighthouses, and may be expected here about April 18. THE HURUNUI. ? The Federal Line announce that the Hurunui will sail from Wellington on Tuesday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to put out the remainder of her cargo. ' THE TREVESSA. In continuation of her voyage from St. John and New York, the. Treyessa .is to leave Dunedin this evening for Melbourne. THE KENTUCKY. To continue discharge of her New Yokr cargo, the Kentucky is to leave Wellington on Saturday for New Plymouth. - THE HANNAH. Tho G. H. Scales Company advise that the Hannah arrived at Port Chalmers' at 9 a.m. yesterday from Timaru to fill ur>. She is to sail finally from Port Chalmers to-morrow for Dunkirk, Hull, and London. THE WHAKATANE. Tho Federal Lino are advised that the Whakatane will leave Auckland this evening for Gisborne, Napier, and other North Island ports 'to‘continue loading for West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. PORT AUCKLAND REPORTED. A wireless message was received yesterday by tho C. and D. Line from tho Port Auckland, en route from New York stating that the vessel will arrive at Auckland to-morrow. She is expected at Wellington on Thursday next. PAPAROA’S MOVEMENTS. An alteration in the projected movements of the Paparoa is announced by the Federal Line. The vessel will i< ave New Plymouth at noon to-day for Wellington, where she is due early .to-mor-row morning to continue loading. On Saturday the Paparoa will sail from here for Wanganui roadstead, and from there she is due bock at Wellington next Wednesday to fill up. The vessel is to sail finally from Wellington at roon next Thursday for ,the West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. KAIKOURA TO LOAD. The New Zeaand Shipping Co.’s steamer Kaikoura left Timaru at, 7 a.m. yesterday for Wellington, where she is due early this morning to load. The vessel will leave Wellington on Saturday afternoon for Opua and Auckland to nick up the remainder of her cargo for London. THE PORT NAPIER, The C. and D. Line state that the Port Napier is now not expected at Wellington until Sunday from Napier to pick up more cargo. The vessel is to sail 'from Wellington on Wednesday next tar Auckland, and will proceed thence to London, via Montevideo. ATHENIC LEAVES COLON. The Shaw, Savill. and Albion Company have been notified by cablegram that the Athenic left Colon on April 2 for Weilinerton. en route from London and Southampton. The vessel is due here on April 10.

THE WESTMEATH. The Westmeath is to leave Wellington this evening for Lyttelton and Dunedin to unload the remainder of her cargo from Liverpool. THE ADMIRAL CODRINGTON. The Poverty Bay Farmers' eat Company’s steamer Admiral Oodrington, which left Falmouth on February 14 for Wellington, resumed her voyage from Colon on March 13. She ie due at Wellington about April 13. The vessel had been at Falmouth for some time. THE CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR, Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co. nave been notified that the Canadian Constructor, en route- from Halifax, is to leave Melbourne on April 11, and is due at Bluff on April 16. Tho vessel will discharge and loud in New Zealand for New York. Boston, and Montreal. She is to proceed from Bluff to Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington, arriving here on April 25. The Canadian Constructor will leave Wellington on April 27 tor Auckland, from which port she is to proceed to 1 New York, Boston, and Montreal. THE RARANGA. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. advise that the Raranga will now leave Wellington to-day for New Plymouth to discharge and to loud for London. The vessel will subsequently load at Wangsrnui. Port Chamers. Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is due at Wellington again on April 22, and will sail finally from here on A’pril 26 for London, via Montevideo and Teneriffe. ■ THE CANADLAN CRUISER. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co. announce that the Canadian Cruiser will leave Auckland towards the end of this week for New York. Boston, and Montreal. MAHIA AT AUCKLAND. At 8 o’clock yesterday morning the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.’s steamer Mahia arrived at- Auckland from Liverpool, via Panama. The vessel will discharge and load at Auckland, and is to leave there on ‘Monday for Napier and Wellington. She is due here next Thursday to discharge, and is to put out the remainder of her ’cargo at Lyttelton and. D The dl Mahia will subsequently load at Port Chalmere, Timaru, and Wellington. The vessel is due at Welington again on May 2. and will leave here on May 8 for London, via Montevideo and lenoriff e. THE PORT CAROLINE. The C. and D. Line will dispatch the Port Caroline from Wellington to-day for Lyttelton to continue loading. The vessel is due back at Wellington next Wednesday from Lyttelton, and will gel away from her© on April 14 for London, via Montevideo. ARAWA AT SOUTHAMPTON. By cable message yesterday the Sh'*w\ Savill, and Albion- Company received news that thm Aruwa arrived at Southampton on March 30 from Wellington. The vessel left here on February 18. CARGO FROM NEW LONDON. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co. advise that the Canadian Ranger sailed from New London on April 1 with cargo to put out at Auckland and Australian ports. Cargo for ports south of Auckland will be transhipped at the northern port. The vessel ia due at Auckland on Mav 10. After completing discharge in Australia, the Canadian Ranger will corns to Now Zealand to load for New York, Boston, and Montreal.

MISCELLANEOUS. The Makura left Auckland at 9.30 n.m. on Tuesday for Suva, Honolulu, and Vancouver. The Ifelmdale is to leave Wellington today for Dunedin direct. She will subsequently load at Oamaru, Timaru, and Lvttelton for Wellington and Wanganui. The Kaimanawa should leave Westport to-day with coal for Wellington. She will reach here to-morrow, G. T. Hull and Co. announce that the John will arrive here to-morrow from Lyttelton to load for Wanganui and New Plymouth. , The Waipdri should clear Grevmoutn to-day with coal and timber far Wellington and Miramar. Levin and Co. announce th.at the Kennedy is to leave Wellington for Foxton on Saturday;. Doorly rejoined «he Moeraki at Wellington yesterday. - Captain Doorlv came ashore at Dunedin owing to teeth trouble, and Captain Foster brought tho vessel to Wellington. Captain E. Vellenoweth will take command of the Flora, vice Captain H. W. Platts, who-comes ashore for orders. Mr. A. J. de Carteret has relinquished the post of second officer of the Wainui. Mr. L. A. ButleY, purser, has left the Wahine. •
