WATER FOR SALE
SERIOUS SHORTAGE IN AUSTRALIA . Such is the shortage of water in certain portions of Australia, that at Cronulla, a town not far south of Sydney, this “precious”, liquid is actually being sold. A visitor from Sydney bv the Ulimaroa yesterday stated t-o a 'Dominion representative that when he left Sydney on Saturday there had not been rain for weeks. Sydnev had a dried-up appearance, and *the water problem was becoming serious. The* watering ’of gardens had been strictly prohibited.
