Tenders are to be called for wiring another block or houses in tlip Dalefield area, and also a block of houses in Lansdowne Estimates have been prepared for over a hundred installations in the Carterton area, and another fifty in Masterton, iu addition to estimates fo r wiring the hospitals at Masterton, Greytown, and tho Old Men’s Home. A| number ot houses which are already wired lor lower voltages have, in conjunction with the Fire Underwriters’ Inspector, been examined by Mr. Drewilt, and arrangements arrived at to notify them for the board’s higher pressure current A number of installations have been inspected at Martinborough. Mr. ,f A. Sargent has been stationed at Featherston to measure up and estimate for wiring installations in the southern part of the inner area, as there is a keen demand lor an electric supply in that district. It was decided that a private mail bag. be procured for the Kourarau Camp, which will be carried by the To Wharau mail.
