Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents, dated March 14 “Wool sales aro proceeding. The auctions continue fairly animated. The following prices are current for average farmers’ lots: —Greasy merinos, 23d. to 29d. per lb.; scoured merinos, 45.; greasy super halfbreds. 56’s. _2od. to 24d.; greasy fine halfbreds', 50/56 s, 19d. to 22d. ; greas.y halfbreds, 48/50’s, Lsd. to 18d.; greasy fine crossbreds, 46/48’s, 13d. to 15d.; greasy medium crossbreds, 44/46’s, lid. to 12d..; greasy coarse crossbreds, 40/44 s. lOci. to lid.; greasy low crossbreds. 36/40 s, 9d to l'od. ; greasv crossbred pieces, 7|d. to Bid.,: greasy crossbred bellies, 7d to Bd.; greasy crossbred locks, 4|d. to 5Jd.” RECORD PRICE FOR WOOL. At the Dunedin woo] sale on March 0 the record price of 2s. 6d. r.er lb. was obtained bv Mr. G. A. Sutherland, of Macrae’s Flat. For many years past Mr. Sutherland has been a consistent user of Little’s Dips—using the Fluid and Powder combined. —(Published by arrangement). JOHNSONVILLE STQCK SALE Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report on the Johnsonville fat stock sale held on Wednesday as follows: —A very small yarding of both sheep and cattle camo’ forward, although a fair number of lambs were penned. The quality was good' throughout. Beef was keenly competed for at prices considerably ahead of last week's quotations. Sheep and cattle also showed an improvement on last, week. We quote:—Ox beef, £9 155., £9 17s. 6d., £lO, to £lO 55.; wethefs, 31s. 3d. to 31s. 6d.: ewes, 245., 245. Bd., to 265.; lambs. 245., 255., to 275. 6d.; small, 225. Tho heifers advertised were not yarded. FROZEN MEAT MARKET g Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable message from their London agents, dated March 1.4: —“Quotations: New Zealand prime Canterbury lamb, 28/42. 12Jd. ; North Island lamb, 28/42, 12}d.; prime Canterbury mutton, 56/64, 83<1.; Ncirth Island mutton, 56/64, B|d.; ewes, 48/64, 7d.; New Zealand prime ox beof, 160/220, hinds 5d. ; fores 3£d. Market quiet, with little business doing. As compared with last week’s Quotations, lamb and mutton is Jd. per lb. cheaper; ewes unchanged. Hipds of beef Jd. per lb. dearer, and fores unchanged.”
