The “Morning Post’s” Cairo correspondent says: “In view of the agitations in Britain for withdrawals from Mesopotamia and Palestine on financial grounds, it is felt that the British Government’s hands are tied as regards Egypt. It is believed that British taxpayers would rather evacuate Egypt than pay for garrisoning it until the country is fit to relieve England of all local Governmental responsibilities.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DEATH PENALTY FOR BOMB POSSESSORS ZAGHLULISTS’ CAMPAIGN TO CONTINUE London, Alarch 8. Advices from Cairo state that Lord Allenby has issued a proclamation that persons found guilty by court-martial of possessing bombs or explosives will be liable to the death penalty. The new Zaghlulist Committee announces that it will continue within the
limits of the law its campaign for honour and liberty, declaring that bloodshed cannot serve tho cause. It claims that isolated acts should not be allowed to affect a. case founded on jus-tice.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
