THE WORLD COURT
BITTER ATTACK ON HARDING’S PROPOSAL FIRST STEP TO ENTERING THE LEAGUE BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. —Copyright. (Rec. Alarch 9, 7.15 p.m.) New York, Alarch 8. Senator Johnson, in a speech, bitterly attacked President Harding’s proposal that the United States join the International Court of Justice, pointing out that, the Court offered little more than what the existing arbitration treaties offer. He said tho so-called court was part of the League of Nations. Entering the court would be the first false step. It would be tho entering of tho wedge—the first movement which would ultimately lead to full membership of the League. “1 do not want Ajjierica to _ enter the League, and shall fight against it; but if America is finally to be driven in, let us go in with our head up and the flag flying- Ho not permit our proud nation to-day to tamely enter, and thus become a member of that which has been so emphatically repudiated.”— Aus.-N.Z.
