THE GOVERNMENT SAVED Brisbane, February 19 Hie Rockhampton by-election caused by the resignation of Mr. Fordo, who defeated Mr. Higgs at Capricorna. was won bv Mr. 1. arrell (Labour), with a majority of 949.
