FAMOUS SCOTS MONEY-BOX REDISCOVERED London, February 15 The “Daily Mail” says: “By a curious trick of fate the famous Scots moneybox, which was believed to have perished, after a lapse of centuries has been rediscovered in London. An Englishman in 1886 purchased it wlrle searching for antiques in a Whitechapel marine store. “He did not know its significance until recently he showed it to a Scotch friend, who repurchased it on behalf of the Royal Scottish Corporation.” The box was instituted in 1611 by a number of Scottish craftsmen forming a society styled “Tho Scottish Box.” The idea was foperiodical eon-tributions in relief of d'stressed Scots, really the forerunner of modern friendly societies. The box bears the inscriptions ‘l6ll’ and T658.’ Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
