TRAGIC DISCOVERY
CLERGYMAN’S BODY
FOUND IN ROOM UNDERNEATH CHURCH BY TELZGRAFH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, February 8. A tragic discovery was made in one of the rooms beneath the Beresford Street Congregational Church this evening, when the body of the Rev. Frederick Warner, formerly pastor of the church, was found after u search which had been in progress since the previous day. Deceased retired at about 11 p.m. on Tuesday, there being nothing to indicate an unusual sttae of health. On Wednesday morning ho was missed. Hie Rev. Warner was about 60 years of age. and at one time was in Sydney, and then at Newton, Auckland, for six years, returning to Australia in 1960 and serving in Melbourne and South Australia. He accepted the charge at Beresford Street seven or eight years ago, resigning about six months ago. At tjie time of his death he was presidejit of the .New . Zealand Congregational Union, and vice-presi-dent of the Australasian Union. He leaves a widow, son, and two daughters.
