FALSE SUPER-TAX RETURNS
charges Against wealthy LONDON MAN. London, February 5. Henry Benson, a well-known city man, was summoned at Bow Street for making false super-tax returns. Tho charge was withdrawn, but it was stated that Benson had to pay £20,000 arrears and £40.000 penalty. Sir Richard Muir, in prosecuting, said that Benson, a very wealthy man, had made false returns .'early snico the super-tax was first imposed. ’When the Crown first launched criminal proceedings, doctors certified that Bel son was unable to attend the court.
