BUTTER AND CHEESE GRADING
The figures of the Dairy Division of the Agricultural Department show that the salted butter graded for January 1923, was 1T7,199cwt., and the upsalted 710Scwt., compared with !35.106cwt. for January of last year—an increase of 36.41 per cent. For the six months ended January, 1923, the respective quantities were 841,861cirt. and 55,7010wE.. compared with 666,991 cwt., an Increase of 41.57 per cent. The cEeese graded for January, comprised:—White, 141,41i1cwt.: coloured, 75,965 cwt., compared with 202,693 cwt, for January, 1922, an increase of 7.23 per cent. 'Hie totals for tho six months ended Januaiy, 1 09 3 wero: —White, 425,087 cwt. • coloured, 238,923c’vt., compared with 716,558 cwt., a decrease of 7.19 per these figures into butterfat equivalent, there is an increase ot 24.85 per cent, in batter-fat production for tho six months, as compared with tho corresponding, period ol 1921-22.
