The Wellington Harbour Board's dredge Whakarire, now on the Wellington Patent Slip, is Having her hoppers sheathed with ginch steel plates, ft. high all round, this work being necessary owing Ao the hor.ner' sides showing signs of wear. The dredge will be on the cradle for about three more weeks. The coastal steamer Kacuni will go up on the new slip at 8.30 o clock this morning for defining aud painting, and wiH be relaunched this afternoon. The Alexander will take her place, on. the new slip on Tuesday morning for cleaning and painting, aud will be brought oli' on tho same afternoon. The Union Company's Wairuna left Auckland on Tuesday night for Melbourne. Thio vessel will complete the discharge of her Pacific Coast cargo at Australian ports. Tho llaiiraki, from Sydney, arrived at Fanning Island at 6.30 o’clock on Monday evening, and left again at 9.30 n.m. the following day for Vancouver. She will load at Pacific Coast ports for New Zealand and Australia.

The departure of the auxiliary scow Echo from Wellington for Blenheim has been postponed, until to-day. She should ret’uim to WcllingCsiiTo-morrow. The Wairau arrived at Wellington last evening from Blenheim. This vessel will sail for Havelock thia afternoon. The Opawa will sail from Wellington to-day for Blenheim, and should be back on Sunday. The Kennedy is expected at Wellington from Lyttelton, via Foxton to-morrow, and will return to Foxton later in tne day. From Lyttelton and Kaikoura. the Wakatu arrived at Wellington last evening. Blie will sail again for the south this afternoon. These vessels comprise Messrs. Levin and Co.’s coastal fleet.

From Onehunga. via Nelson, the Corinna is expected at Wellington on Tuesday to load for Dunedin. Oamaru, and Timaru. Mesrs. Charles McArthur and Co. advise that the Coronation is to leave Westport to-day for Greymouth, where she will load timber for Wellington.

Tho Holmdale is expected at Wellington this morning- from Dunedin. Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. She will sail thio afternoon for Wanganui. The Marine Department advise that the Dieffenbach light in Tory Channel has been relighted.

The Tutanckai now engaged in replenishing supplies, etc., of northern lighthouses. is expected at the Bussell light to-day.
