FREQUENT MINISTERIAL CHANGES MUSSOLINI PROPOSES NEW METHOD BY TSLIGBAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Rome, January 14. Signor Mussolini, writing in his magazine, “Gerarchia,” declares that the .chief defect of the Government of Italy has been the frequent unnecessary changes of Ministry. No statesman ever had time to finish what he began. It is believed that these opinions foreshadow a change of the Parliamentary system. Signor Mussolini is said to bo preparing a Bill whereby future Ministries will remain in power for four years, the King being empowered to demand their resignation.— Aus-N.Z. Cable Assn.
. FLOOD OF REFORMS PARLIAMENT’S REDUCED STATUS (Rec. January 15, 8.45 p.m.) London, January 15. Tho “Daily Chronicle’s” Rome correspondent scathingly criticises tho devastatingly flood-like speed with which Signor Mussolini is inaugurating reforms. He says Signor Mussolini and his disciples ar,e doing much good, but a lot in the wrong way. The general atniospfijre, therefore, is unhealthy. For instance, 60,000 railwaymen were dismissed, only Fascist! being retained. The Government’s only fate for those dismissed is emigration. Signor Mussolini is reducing the Parliament to the status of a helpless Reichstag under a kaiser. It is a mere debating society.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
