REGENT’S PARK MURDER

EVIDENCE AT INQUEST.

London. January 14

The verdict at the inquest on Mrs. Middleton was that Maltby murdered her. and that her death was due to bullet wounds in the back of .the head. A. ductor gave evidence that the death occurred four or five months ago. Tho police found many letters, mostly brief, written, by Maltby, scattered about the house; some were pinned to doors. Many stated or implied that Mrs. Middleton committed suicide about August 24. Some were addressed to the woman in endearing terms, and stated that ho was screwing up courage to commit suicide to join her. One read: “It’s all right, darling, I hear you calling me. I’m going to do it to-day. I’m a coward or I should have been with you before.”—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
