The death is reported from. Christchurch of the Rev. E. W. Walker, of Leeston, at the age of 49 years. The workers of the Sailors’ Friend Society were responsible for the entertainment on Tuesday, and their guests from the ships in pfirt had a roost enjoyable time with music, games, competitions, etc. ' The time pioved all too short in the beautiful institute. Those who rendered nntsical items were: Mrs. Edwards, Miss Passau, Mr. Eric Harrison, and Mr. T. H. Jones. They were warmly encored. Air. Moore, missioner, .Mr. O. H. Thomas, and the sailors thanked all who had made the evening such a pleasant one. Miss Mary Kreoft presented .pach guest with a buttonhole of flowers.
