RIFLE SHOOTING
UPPER HUTT CLUB Tho members of tho Upper Hutt R.C. held, in addition to their ordinary competitions a Christmas shoot for prizes donated by Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Wilkie, Mrs. 'Wood, Messrs. A. Allan, J. Ayres, J. T. Benge, M. Cottle, A. and' J. Gorrie, Harvard, J. Jackson, L. Kitchen, A. Pearce, A. and F. Quinlivan, C. Skow, F. Sygrove, H. Whiteman, Whiteman Bros., at ranges 500 and 600 yards. Rflmn. F. Whiteman scoured a leg-in for Mr. R. Scholes’s trophy, and Rflmn. W. Deller Mr. J. T. Benge’s trophy. The following trophies were won at the termination of the second short range series:— Dep.-Pres. Juke /Whiteman, Mr. F. Key’s trophy; Rflmn. A. Scholes, Mr. J. A. Ilazlewood’s trophy ; Rflmn. S. Braid, Mr. A. Edwards’s trophy; Rflmn. W. Deller, Mr. H. R. Gibb’s trophy. Next Saturday the club will fire a practice match at ranges 200 and 500 yards.

THE NGATIAWA CLUB. The Ngatiawa Rifle Club fired seven shots at 300 and 600' yards on’ Saturday for the Mahara House Trophy, the result being a tie between De-puty-President /A. H.
