NEW PLAN FOR MATCHES BEING CONSIDERED CONTESTANTS INTO ZONES /Rec. November 5, 11.5 p.m.) New Yoi*k, November 4. The “Chicago Tinbune’s” Honolulu correspondent says Mr. Veron Prentice, a member of the Tourney Committee of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, has announced that the Davis Cup Committee Is considering a new plan for Davis Cup matches next year, by which the contestants would be divided into European and Pacific zones. Japan,’ Australasia, the Philippines, Hawaii, and the )Vestern Hemisphere countries would come under the Pacific zone, and the preliminary matches between the latter woti’d be held nt Honolulu. Japan and Australasia expressed approval of the plan, and their willingness to play at Hono-lulu.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
