PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annual meeting of tho technological section of the Philosophical Society was held last night, when the following officers were elected for the next session :—Chairman, Mr. W. J. Wyles; vice-chairman, Mr. A. Gibbs; secretary, Mr. G- B- Bradshaw; committee, Messrs. R. ,W. Holmes, H. Sladden, and L. Birks. . On the motion of Mr- 8. H. Jenkinson it was decided to advise the society tlra.t in the opinion of the members of the'technological section the proposal to revert to the organisation of 1911 is a retrograde one, and should not be adopted. The organisation of the Philosophical Society in 1911 was that of one bhj body. Since that time it has been divided into tho various sections that exist at present, and which the success of tho proposal will have the effect of doing away with.
