NEW STEAMER FOR UNION COMPANY
NOTABLE ADVANCE IN MARINE ENGINEERING. (Rec. September 29, 5.5 p.m.) London, September 28A notable advance in marine engineering is claimed to be embodied in a vessel which the Fairfield Shipbuilding Company, of Glasgow, has secured a contract to build for the Vancouver service of the Union Company of New Zealand. The vessel will be fitted with Diesel engines, and will be 600 feet long, with a sneed of eighteen knots. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
