TWO RACING CLUBS
AVONDALE’S AFFAIRS BEING INVESTIGATED
Curiosity about the affairs of tho Avondalo and Takapuna, Racing Clubs was expressed bv members of the House last night. The two . clubs figured rather prominently in the report of tho Racing Commission sometime ago. . Mr. A. D. McLeod (Wairarapa) asked what was being done in reference to tho Avondalo Cub’s permit. Mr. F. F. Hackly (Rotorua) said he understood that tho affairs of both clubs Tore being investigated. He wished to know whether the House would bp given tho report, which would doubtless be made in due -/urse to tlie Minister of Internal Affairs. Sir William Herries said that tho Minister of Internal Affairs had referred the balance-sheet of tho Avondale Club to the Racing _ Conference, which was having it investigated. The report had not yet been received by tho Minister. In tho meantime a permit had been granted, and the club had lately held a very successful meeting.
