Sir,—The report of my'remarks as it appeared in some newspapers and as quoted by your correspondent, 1). W. Russell, is not. correct, and gives a false impression. Neither I nor any witness at the venerea) diseases inquiry refloc ted generally on the character of the women, especially the war workers, of England; my reference was solely to women of apparently good social position who frequented certain hotels in London during tbo war.-I am, etc., j g .
