MAGISTRATE’S COURT

ALLEGED BURGLARY. A brief sitting of the Magistrate’s Court wa.s held on Saturday morning, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., presiding. A remand until AVednesday next was granted in the case of Joseph Terence Maher, who was charged with breaking and entering the premises of William Hyde, at Raetihi, and stealing articles to the value of £163 Is. 6d. Bail was allowed, self in £3OO and two sureties of £l5O. OTHER CHARGES. For insobriety, Jabez AVoolridge. against whom there was one previous conviction, was fined 10s., in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. AVilliam Patrick Neary, who appeared to answer a charge of being an idle and disorderly person, was remanded until September 1.
