As showing tho shortage' of horses in other districts, out-sido buyers have been very active at recent sales in Poverty ' Bav, and have purchased horses of all descriptions (states an exchange). Within the past few davs about 150 horses have changed lianas, and this largo mob—in charge of six men —loft Ormond at noon the other day for the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato districts. It is seldom nowadays that, so many horses are seen on the road at ono time, and tho mob occasioned much interest among passing motorists.
Mt. J. Pye, a postman of Hampstead, who has just retired, is estimated to have walked nearly 150,000 milge in the course of hie Ai years’ service.
