New South Wales second fifteen, at Manly. The weather was fine. The match resulted in a runaway victory for the visitors, who generally ignored tile opposition. The New South ales team, though they scored 19 points against the All Blacks’ 56, earned considerably less, several of their scores being directly attributable to the daring manner in which tho New Zealand backs initiated attacking movements near their own goal, thus offering a premium to opponents smart enough to intercept. _ . Both spells were more or less similar. with Bellis leading the vanguard through the opposition repeatedly. All tie team participated iu passing rushes, the ball flying from p’ayer to player in a fashion bewildering to the Blue defenders. The first half ended: New Zealand, 31; New South Wales, 8. The annual football matches between the Waitaki ami Timaru Boys High Schools were played to-day in delightful weather, and on a fast ground, there was a large attendance. The games were closely contested and exciting. Two matches (senior and junior) were played, Waitaki winning the double. In the match, \\ aitaki won bj 17 points to 12. In the match between the iunior teams, Waitaki won by 13 points to 3. Waitalii has an unbeaten record this season, the seniors having previously‘drawn with the Otago ana Christchurch teams.
