The, widow of th© late Mr. Finlay Bethune, who was headmaster at Newtown School, and died on December 95 1921, has petitioned Parliament for tho sum of £O6 14s. Id., representing tho amount deceased would have earned up to tho end of the summer holidays had ho lived. The tioner states that her husband was entitled to and had -earned the holiday on full pay up to February 6, 1922. The United States Senate has approved an expenditure of £25,000 tor improving tho American Embassy office in London.
