EX-PUBLIC SERVANTS’ PETITION A request for an investigation of certain matters has been preferred to the Government by the Federated Association of Superannuated Public-Ser-vants. The association states that there appears to bo more than grave doubt whether recent retrenchment 111 public expenditure really applies to the bonus granted to superannuated 1 üb; lie servants, to widows of Public servants and their children of school age ; that in the present state of affairs tho widows and children of railway servants receive no allowance under the railway sujj/jrannuation system; and teat applicants for the. 1921-22 bonus are subjected by the Finance Department to inquiries “degrading and unwarranted,” which have the effect of depriving some of them of the bonus. Upon these matters tho association wishes to be heard by a tribunal appointed for the purposes of investigation-
