TERRIBLE SCENES

RAIWAY DISASTER IN GERMANY HUNDREDS OF PASSENGERS SWEPT ON TO LINES DY TELEGRAPH—PBKBI ASSOCIATION. - -COPYRIGHT. (Rec. June 28, 10.20 p.m.) Berlin, June 27, Traggdy attended the funeral of Dr. Rathenau, the murdered Foreign Minister. A train crowded, with spectators of the ceremonial, including many workmen who were standing on the footboards, was traversing a tunnel when it met a train carrying long girders and travelling in the opposite direction.

The girders caught the sides of the carriages of the first train, crashing through the woodwork. They swept off hundreds of passengers pn to the line between the trains. Most terrible scenes followed in the semi-darkness. Many shrieking victims were crushed, and others were seized with panic.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
