NOISY SCENES AT LABOUR CONFERENCE
TROUBLE,OVER NEW RULES. (Rec. June 28, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 27. At the Labour Party’s conference in Glasgow, Mr. F. W. Jowett, who is presiding, bitterly attacked the vulgar orgies of tho rich. The conference witnessed some noisy scenes with Communist members, who objected to a new rule compelling acceptance of the party’s constitution before being.allowed Io attend the conference. The rule was adopted by a 10 to 1 majority. Mr. Havelock Wilson’s position as' member of Parliament for South Shields, he having declared his intention of contesting the next election as a Coalitionist, was raised. Mr. Arthur, Henderson declared that under the new rule the new executive would have to consider the position of Mr. Wilstin and other members who were sailing under Labour colours. —Aus.N.Z.
