It is rumoured (states the “Hawke’s Bay Herald”) that an endeavour. will bo made to consolidate the Waikato Maori interests in a single candidate to meet the formidable opposition expected from young Ratana, non of the fnith-healer, who seeks to represent the constituency. Sir Maui Pomare is in the Waikato, and hopes to get tho support of the Maniapoto tribes.
