MAGISTRATE’S COURT

POLICE CASES. Mr.. F. K. Hunt, S.M., presided at the sitting of the Police Court on Saturday morning. Robert Landy, for a second lapse from the state of sobriety, was fined 10s., or forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. William John Henderson, for being found /drunk, was fined 55., and for committing an indecent act he was fined £2. Edward Napier came upon a charge of having committed an indecent assault upon a male on March 20 last at Wellington. On tho application of Senior Sergeant Lander accused was remanded until May 17. This charge arose out of a recent case of a similar nature, heard in tho Supreme Court last week. John Phillips was charged with the theft of £5 from Thomas Kearney, at Trcnthara on May 4, and was remanded to appear at Upper Hutt on Wednesday.
