MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
SEQUEL TO COLLISION. BY TELBGaAPH—PBESS ASSOCIATION. Hawera, May 13. Early in April a car proceeding from Manaia to Opunake . after a football tournament collided in the dark with a cart driven by a Native named Rangiriiaha. One of the occupants of the car. Thomas Duffy, was seriously injured, and died on April 18. Yesterday, at Opunake, in the Magistrate’s Court. Rangimaha was before Justices of the Peace, charged with manslaughter. Accused reserved his defence, and was committed for trial at tho next sittings of/the Supreme Court at New Plymouth.
