In the presence of a big crowd at Lancaster Park, Merivale and Christchurch played a draw, each side scoring 12 points. Marist beat Albion, 29 —0; Old Boys beat ’Varsity, 14y5; and Linwood beat Sydenham-Lyttel-ton, 12—3. At Dunedin, Kaikorai.beat Dunedin. 14—3; Pirates beat Zingari. 12 —9; Alhambra beat ’ Varsity B, 10—3: ’Varsity A beet. Port Chalmers, 20 —3 ; Taieri Rovers beat Union, 7—3. In tho Manawatu competition, Kia Tea beat Jackeytown, 15 —9; Woodville beat R.S.A.. 11—0; and Feilding beat'Eastern United, 25—5.
