PROVIDENT LIFE ASSURANCE CO. The annual meeting of the Provident Life Assurance Co. was held recently at the Head Office of the Company. Dr. W. S. Roberts being in the chair. The \ report showed the total new business ’completed to be £‘582,753. The premium income amounted to £lll2 006 11s. 5d.. an increase of £9940 ss. lOd. over that of last year, while the total net income of £128.529 10s. 4d.‘ showed an increase of £12,936 0s lOd. over that for 1920. The sum of £26,163 19s. 6d. was paid in claims. wh : le £52 094 os. 10d. was added to the fund, which amounted at the end of the vear to £341.293 14s. 3d. The chairman, in his speech, congratulated the staff on the excellent, results for the year,' which, were obtained tn snite of the depression in trade., the fall in value of products, and considerable unemployment. While there was a slight falling off in the new business, both the increase in the total income nnd the addition to the fundswere larger than any previous years. Tile expense ratios had been reduced in both departs n-ents. while the rate of interest on the total funds showed a satisfactory im. provement, and now stood nt £5 7s. Bd, ner cent. The income during tlm nnst five years had increased over £6(1.000, while the funds were nearly £2OO 004 greater, and they were satisfied that even better re-nits voulr’ be shown in the future.—Advt.
