An arrival in port yesterday afternoon was the Shaw-Sa’ ill steamer Raranga from London, via Cardiff. The vessel, winch is in ballast, cleared the English port on February 11, and resumed her voyage from Cardiff seven nays later. For the greater portion of the journey to Colon, strong westerly gules, with moderate seas, prevailed, auu the vessel's progress was, as a . consequence, somewhat impeded. The Raranga arrived at Coion on March 7, and left Balboa later m the day for Wellington, experiencing exceptionally fine weather, which held until arrival at the anchorage ut 2.50 p.m. The voyage was uneventiul; The vessel was granted pratique, and berthed at 4.15 p.m. It is hoped to dispatch the Raranga early next week for Napier-, Russell. aud Auckland, at all of which porta she wiil load, sailing finally from Auckland on April 21 lor London, via Cape Horn. , . , Oafiiaih 0. FUTURE OF VALMARIE’S CARGO. Mr. A. .E, Tasker, of Nelson, who on Wednesday purchased the hull and cargo of the tnree-masted schooner Valmu-ie, states that he is, hopeful of salvaging the hardwood. He intends to lay a tramline from the schooner s side as she now lies near Farewell bptt to Puponga, from which port the timber will bo shipped to Wellington, possibly, by the auxiliary schooner Kohi. There is stated to be about 100,000 ft,. of hardwood in the hold of the Yalmarie, and the work of discharging the cargo has already commenced. PORT BOWEN TO COMPLETE. The C. and D. Steamer Port Bowen arrived in the stream yesterday afternoon from Gisborne, and will berth this morning at the Glasgow Wharf. Her departure for London, via Montevideo, has been postponed until Tuesday morning. FEDERAi , SAILINGS. Two units of the Federal fleet will be dispatched from Wellington to-day for Home. Ths Treloske will now sail at daybreak for Liverpjpl and jfWinchester, via Montevideo, and the Somerset is timed iu leave at noon for four West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, via Panama. UNION COMPANY’S COASTAL BOATS. The Oorinna, which arrived last evening from Lyttelton, will now sail today loi- New Plymouth, via Nelson. 'rue Wanaka is expected to clear Auckland to-morrow for Wellington, Duneuin, Bluff, Panama, and Timaru. The vessel is uue here on Tuesday. Due on Sunday from Westport, the Komuta will be dispatched on Tuesday on tae return trip. The' Kahika is now due to-day from New Plymouth, aud will sail to-nignt for Nelson, from which port she is to go on to Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Kurow, which sailed yesterday for Lyttelton to put out the remaining portion of her Westport cargo, will subsequently load for Auckland at Lyttelton, Timaru, and Wellington. It is hoped to dispatch the Rakanoa to-morrow for Westport, where she will load for Wellington. THE WAIWERA. The Shaw-Savill steamer Waiwera is to sail this afternoon for London, via Panama, New York, and Boston. CANADIAN VICTOR'S MOVEMENTS. The Canadian Victoi- has been detained at Lyttelton, and should now i-eacn Wellington on Sunday. The vessel will sail on Tuesday evening next for Auckland to complete loading lor New York, Boston, aud Montreal. OORINTHIO TO COMPLETE. The Corlnthio is now due at Wellington on April 5 from Lyttelton aud will sail at daybreak on April 11 for Southampton aud London, via Panama. RIMUTAKA ARRIVES HOME. Cabled advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company to the effect that the Rlmutaka, which was dispatched from Wellington on February 11 for Southampton, reached her destination on March 29.
