INSURANCE CLERK’S SUICIDE

Cecil Lawrence Clifford, a clerk employed in the stationery department of the New Zealand Insurance Company, was found , unconscious in a room at the office, with the gas turned on full but not lit. A doctor was sent for, but could only pronounce life extinct. Deceased was single, 24 years of age, and a returned soldier with three yeacs’ service. _At the inquest, a verdict of suicide was returned.
