CITY COUNCIL

The fortnightly meeting of tho Wellington City Council was held last night. The Mayor (Mr. It. A. Wright) presided, and there were also present: Councillors (Mrs.) McVicar, P. C H. Chapman, H. D. Bennett, W. H. Bennett, J. Burns, B. G. H. Burn, S. H. Underwood, C. B. l. Forsyth, W. J. Thompson, L. McKenzie, M. Luckie, J. M. Dale, and W. J. Gaudin. , , , . r A report was adopted in reference to the corporation motors, recommending tho erection of up-to-date workshops and store to provide facilities for handling the fleet of motor-vehicles; that all motor-vehicles be standardised ; that a two-seater ear be purchased for the waterworks department; that all motor-vehicles be housed in the corporation motor yard; and that the city engineer arrange for temporary accommoilation for the motor department. It was decided that in cases where permission is granted for a charge for admission to the city reserves, the rop-ing-off, or in any way enclosing, ol a portion of the ground and charging extra for admission thereto ho not per-' mitted without the express consent ot tho council; the area to bo enclosed to be approved bv tho Reserves Committee. and the additional charge advertised bv the body using the ground.
