A concrete indication of how productive dairying hind is proving this year is afforded by figures obtained from tho Taranaki Producers’ Freezing l Company, through whose stores at Moturon pass the butter and cheese which is exported from North Taranaki. Statistics show that the quantities of butter and cheese received into store to date this season compared with the quantities for the corresponding portion of hist season (butter is “boxes” and cheese is “crates”) are: 1921-22. 1920-21. Butter 142.281 ’ 102.G64 Cheese .... 100.8G3 97,773 Increase: Butter, 39.617 boxes; cheese, 3090 crates. Reducing the quantities to buttcr-fat on the approximate basis of 501 b. butter-fat to a box of butter and 651 b. to a crate of cheese, it is seen that production lias increased by almost 20 per cent, for the portion of the 1921-22 season which is behind us. A feature of the earlier part of the season was the abnormal output of butter. Now (states the “Tarimiki Herald”) a tendency to swing back to cheese production is apparent. Mr. H. Tunis has undergone an operation in a private hospital.
