ARBITRATION COURT
FLECTION OF WORKERS’ REPRESENTATIVES.
BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, March 1. Peril vine to a Labour deputation today the Hon. J. G. Anderson said that as far as electing the workers representatives on the Arbitration Court was concerned the position would oe dealt with in a consolidating measure, and some things that had occurred in the past in respect to nominating representatives would be avoided. He was not there to discuss the labour position but could say that some better form of election would be introduced. - , As to the standard of living, ho could not see that anybody could fix it better than the Arbitration Court could. He certainly would not do it. It was a free country, and people could live as they chose. The standard he. set up might not please others, apd the standard others set up might not please him- He would go into the deputation’s request that the Arbitration Court should be allowed to make Dominion awards. The Minister also said that the position of conciliation councils was being considered, but he could not go further into AJiat question just then.
