Soldier settlers from a wide district covering Manawatu and Main Trunk areas at a meeting at Awahuri resolved: “That the Government bo asked for remission of rent on soldier settlements, and, further, that revaluation of such lands based on their present productive capacity, should be made; that the Government bo advised that those soldier settlors occupying farms which are not yet remunerative should be immediately appointed temporary managers of such farms, ®nd paid a' sustenance grant of £2 weekly for married men and £1 for •Jngle men.
