MOTOR COLLISION

CYCLIST SEVERELY INJURED. A collision occurred between a motorcycle, ridden by Russell Selwyn Staples, and a motor-car, driven by J. Flynn, an employe© of ‘th© Aston Hudson Motor Services, at the corner of Davis Street and Thorndon Quay about noon yesterday. It is stated that the mo-tor-car was being driven along the Quay in the direction of the station, and the cyclist was proceeding along Davis Street, and came suddenly round into Thorndon Quay, with the result that they met- Staples was rendered unconscious. Medical assistance was obtained, and he was removed te the Davis Street private hospital. He was progressing as well as could be expected last evening.
