PLAGUE PRECAUTIONS AT AUCKLAND

AIINISTER. AND HEALTH OFFICER. BY TEEEGKAPH—PEESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, March 1. Replying to the attack by Dr. AlcKibbon in regard to plague precautions in Auckland, the Hon. C. J. Parr says that Dr. AlcKibbon’s real grievance is that he resents the presence here of his senior officer, Dr. Frengley, who has been sent at his (Air. Parr’s) request to supervise the plague precautions. Auckland, Air. Parr added, was a danger spot, and he would take no risk that could be avoided. The incident would become the subject of inquiry and action by the Public Service Commissioner and the executive head of the Department of Health.
