THE PRINCE IN INDIA
BOMBAY’S ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION IMMENSE POPULARITY DEMONSTRATED (Reo. November 25, 7.5 p.m.) London, November 24.. The Government of Bombay has sent a cable message to Mr. E. S. Montague (Secretary of State for India) describing the enthusiastic reception accorded the Prince of Wales throughout his stay in that city. Two hundred thousand people attended the arrival. ’ The chair used at the Poona ceremony was the object of special veneration, the crowd pouring in throughout the afternoon, to do reverence to it. Ths carpet on which the Prince stood was later torn into shreds as relics of the visit. The enthusiasm on the racecourse was unsurpassable. Evon those doubting the warmth of the reception awaiting the Prince were astounded at the wealth of loyal affection. Every day demonstrated the immense popularity of the Prince.— Aus.-N.Z.
